Product images without invented details

Lesson 3 of 7 · 15 minutes of practice

Prepare a promotional image that preserves verifiable details.

1. Separate product and setting

For a real product, start with photos you own or have permission to use. Write down what must not change: shape, color, visible materials and logo if you have permission. An attractive background does not make up for an incorrectly represented product.

2. A minimal brief

Our example is a generic, unbranded blue reusable bottle. We do not assign capacity, insulation or certified materials because we have not verified them. The scene will be a light-colored table with side lighting.

3. Working prompt

Use my authorized photo as the product reference. Preserve the bottle's shape, blue tone and visible details. Place it on a light-colored table with soft side lighting. Simple background, no people or text. Do not add accessories, certifications or functions that are not in the reference.

4. Design the message separately

Example text: "A break for a drink of water". It is an invitation, not a technical claim. Add the text later in an editor and check spelling, readability and contrast. Avoid prices or discounts unless confirmed.

5. Compare with the reference

Check the cap, proportions, color and any visible branding. Reject an image that changes the product, even if it looks good. If you cannot verify a detail, do not present it as evidence of a real feature.

Your practice

  1. 1Choose an object you own and take a photo.
  2. 2Write down three details that must stay the same.
  3. 3Prepare a setting prompt and a promotional sentence without invented benefits.
  4. 4Mark what matches and what needs fixing in a review. You can use a sketch if you do not generate an image.
